MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The City of Mobile Parks & Recreation Department announced on its Facebook page that it will host an event on Monday, March 16, aimed at providing young people with an opportunity to engage in conversations with trained mental health professionals.
Here is the post from the City of Mobile: Parks & Recreation:
Attention Parents of Teens!
The MPRD Teen Mentor Coordinators have organized an important event for Mobile's youth on Monday, March 16, at Great Day Latte in downtown Mobile (10 S. Conception Street).
Register your teen (ages 13–18) for the Mental Health Check-In, a unique opportunity for young people to engage in open and honest conversations with trained mental health professionals who are there to listen and support.
This event is designed to remind teens they are not alone. Participants will be welcomed into a judgment-free space where they can:
- Share their thoughts and feelings
- Talk through real-life challenges
- Learn healthy coping strategies
- Build tools to support their emotional well-being
Encourage your teen to come as they are, enjoy a drink, and take an important step toward caring for their mental and emotional health.
