JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - High school students from Jackson and Lenawee schools took part in the final “Launch” phase of Junior Achievement’s CEO Challenge at the Jackson Area Career Center on Saturday.
Seventeen teams advanced past the seed rounds to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges in an event modeled after the television show “Shark Tank.”
Participants competed for prize money of up to $2,000.
Collin Martin, a judge for the CEO Challenge and Financial Wellness Manager at American 1 Credit Union, emphasized the competition’s broader impact on the region.
“We’re really developing the next generation of entrepreneurs, and this helps us elevate the community by sparking creative ideas and bringing new solutions to real-life problems these communities face,” Martin said.
